Manuel Peixoto

Manuel Peixoto, 84, of Middletown, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA surrounded by his loving family. Born in Norte Pequeno, Faial, Azores, on August 30, 1928, he was the son of the late Joao Silveira Peixoto and Madalena (Francisca) Peixoto. He was the husband of the late Maria Salome (Pinheiro) Peixoto. Manuel loved salt-water fishing, and gardening, and loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his son Hildeberto Peixoto, his daughter Nancy McLeish and her husband David of Middletown, and his two grandchildren, Michael Peixoto and Maia McLeish. He is also survived by his sister, Delfina Soito.He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters Francisco, Joao, Maria, Conceicao, Filomena, Madelena, Jose and Tomas; and by his daughter-in-law, Debra Peixoto. Calling hours will be held on Friday July 19, 2013 from 5:00-7:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway, Newport. His funeral will be held on Saturday July 20, 2013 at 9:00 am in the funeral home and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am in Jesus Savior Church, 1 Vernon Avenue, Newport.
