Middletown, RI - Abby Mack Munro, 90, of 9 Dudley Avenue North, Middletown, RI, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at home. She was the wife of the late Franklin Munro, retired Chief, USCG. Born in Newport, RI on January 6, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Annie Keane Mack.Mrs. Munro worked at the Newport Naval Base in the Commissary. Before that she had worked for the G. E. Monowatt plant and in her youth also at Frasch?s Bakery. Mrs. Munro was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church. She is survived by her sons Richard Munro and his wife Elizabeth of Portsmouth, RI and Robert Munro of Middletown, RI, her sisters Mary Mack of Middletown, RI and Anna Hogan of Newport, RI, and two grandsons Joshua Munro and Benjamin Munro. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, October 13, at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 12, 2007, from 4-7pm in the funeral home. Donations in her memory may be made to the Middletown Fire Department and Rescue Wagon Fund, 239 Wyatt Road, Middletown, RI 02842.
