Adeline Cerce

Adeline Raposa Cerce, 88, of Dexter Street, Portsmouth, RI passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Silver Creek Manor in Bristol, RI.She was the wife of the late James Cerce.Born in Fall River, MA on September 11, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Jose D. Joseph and Georgianna Souza Raposa.Mrs. Cerce was a communicant of St. Anthony Church in Portsmouth and a member of the Portsmouth Senior Center.She is survived by her son, Douglas S. Cerce and his wife, Jeanette, of Portsmouth, RI; two grandsons, Douglas S. Cerce, Jr. and his wife, Gina, of Johnston, RI and James W. Cerce of Portsmouth, RI; three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Andrew and Alexander Cerce; two sisters, Inez Majcher and Elsie Ginger Dubanevich, both of Fall River, MA; and several nieces and nephews.Her funeral will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 8 am from Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in St. Anthony Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River, MA.Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 6, 2010 from 5-8 pm in the funeral home.
