Newport, RI - Agnes Cecelia Phillips Peter, 91, of 90 Warner Street, Newport, RI, died Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late Frank A. Peter, Jr. Born in East Providence, on August 5, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Botelho Phillips.Mrs. Peter grew up in Newport and maintained an immaculate home always a great hostess to her guest. She enjoyed fishing with her husband at Fort Adams and bingo nights anywhere she could. She is survived by her son Frank A. Peter III and his companion Kathy Keating of Portsmouth, RI, her daughter Carol MacDonald and her husband Ronald of Newport, RI, her grandchildren, Keith MacDonald and his wife Stacie of Portsmouth, RI, Kevin MacDonald and his wife Trish of Newport, RI, Scott MacDonald and his wife Amy of Tiverton, RI, Sarah Peter of Middletown, RI, Cameron Peter of Middletown, RI and Alison Peter of Newport, RI and six great grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Alfred Phillips, Gloria Martland and Gillmena E. White. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010, from 4-7 in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2010, at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Jesus Savior Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
