Alan Monterde Codilla

Middletown, RI- Alan Monterde Codilla, 61, of Middletown, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at home in Middletown surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Cerilane Codilla. Born in the Philippines, on November 18, 1952, he was the son of the late Guillermo and Minda (Monterde) Codilla. Mr. Codilla, served in the United States Navy for 23 years, including 4 years during the Gulf War. In his retirement he worked in several local hotels, most recently for the Best Western Mainstay since 2001 as a revenue manager. Besides his wife of 32 years, he is survived by his children, Gilmore Codilla, Gilda C. Bullard, Gwendolyn Codilla and Guenevere "Gigi" Codilla all of Middletown, RI, his siblings Arthur Codilla, Alfred Codilla, and Arlene Dosdos all of the Philippines, Annabelle O'Clair of Oklahoma and Adeline Burkett and Adah Codilla of Texas. She was predeceased in death by her daughter Gladys Codilla.His funeral will be held on Friday, June 20, at 12:00 PM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial with military honors will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
