Albert E. Walker

Albert E. Walker, 51, of Admiralty Drive, Middletown, died peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Newport Hospital. Born in Newport, RI on August 26, 1962, he was the son of Charles B. Walker Jr. of Florida and the late Lorraine (Bowley) Walker. Albert grew up in Middletown and met the love of his life in the 7th grade, Eileen L. Paiva. They married in 1985 and enjoyed 28 years of fun and marriage. Albert was a letter carrier for the Middletown Post Office for the last 27 years. Music brought joy and fun to Alberts life. He and his friend Steve Fontaine ran the in-house sound system at the former Blue Pelican. Known by his friends and family as "Fast Al", he was also a talented musician himself, a singer and multi-instrumentalist, playing with several different bands over the years. His love of music was contagious; he brought music into many peoples lives, especially his children. His generosity was not limited to music, as he was always quick to share whatever he had with his family and strangers alike. Albert also loved animals, surrounding himself with both pets and the animals in nature. He is survived by his wife Eileen L. (Paiva) Walker of Middletown, a daughter Brianna E. Walker and a son Albert E. Walker II, both of Middletown, a sister Lorrie Foster, and five brothers Charles B. Walker III, William J. Walker, Robert J. Walker, John B. Walker, and Patrick K. Walker, and his in-laws Jesse and Louise (Boiani) Paiva of Middletown. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 15, from 4:00-7:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 16, at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
