Albert Edward Whitney Jr

Portsmouth, RI ? Maj. Albert Edward Whitney, Jr., USAF ret 83, of 86 Redwood Road, Portsmouth, RI, died Saturday, June 24, 2006, at Roger Williams Medical Center, Providence, RI. He was the husband of the late Muriel Elaine Whitney. Born in Bath, Maine on February 18, 1923, he was the son of the late Albert Edward and Marjorie Fish Whitney.Mr. Whitney most recently worked as a mechanical engineer for the former NUSC for 35 years. He is survived by two daughters, Gail Whitney Allen and her husband Guy Mansfield Allen of Portsmouth, RI, and Andrea Lee Whitney and Bruce G. Wentzel of Portsmouth, RI, a sister, Virginia Whitney Fiske and her husband, Rev. Robert Fiske of Leesburg, FL, and nephews and grand nieces. Mr. Whitney is also survived by his two Maine Coon grand cats Maggie and Rosie. His funeral will be held on Thursday, June 29, at 11:00a.m., in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2006, from 6-9 p.m. in the Memorial Funeral Home.
