Middletown, RI - Albert John Binky Millington, Sr, 77, of 291 Prospect Avenue, Middletown, RI, died unexpectedly on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. Born in Paisley, Scotland on June 11, 1931, he was the son of the late James Bud Quinn Millington and Margaret Johnston Millington Afflerbach.Albert Binky Millington graduated from De La Salle Academy in 1949 and served in the US Army Reserve after school. He then began work for local moving companies. He worked for Andrews Mayflower for over 50 years as a packer/mover. In his youth he operated a Bum boat, bringing food and laundry out to the Navy ships while they were anchored in port. He is survived by a son Albert J. Millington, Jr. of Effingham, NH , and a daughter Elizabeth Toppa of Tamworth, NH, his brother Peter Afflerbach of Newport, RI, and sister Fredericka Gallagher of Newport, RI, his former wife Elizabeth Crosby of Newport, and his uncle Albert N. Millington and his wife Dot of Newport, RI, 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Mary OLoughlin-Radov. Calling hours will be held Saturday, February 14 from 2:00-4:00, with a prayer service at 3:30 in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI. Burial will be private.
