Newport, RI - Albert Morais, 82, of 6 Second Street, Newport, RI, died Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI.He was the husband of Lillian Ruth Addison Morais. Born in St. Michel the Azores, Portugal, on March 31, 1929, he was the son of the late John and Maria Medeiros Morais.Mr. Morais was a very hard worker, starting his career as a gardener for Hugo Keys Landscaping then R.J. Cawley Landscaping, before moving on to work the for the Sharon Estate and Wood Prince Families. He will be sadly missed by all his fishing buddies on the causeway. Besides his wife of 37 years, he is survived by his son Keith Upshur of Newport, RI, his sister, Esmeralda Pacheco of East Providence, RI, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel Morais and Marino Morais. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011, from 2-5 in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.His funeral will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Jesus Savior Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport.Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of ones choice.
