Albert Ward Borden, Sr., born February 22, 1917, Portsmouth, RI, passed away quietly on Saturday, December 6, 2008 after a long illness.He leaves his wife Michalena Borden of 73 years, daughter, Viola Jenks of Burrillville, RI, sons, Albert Borden, Jr. of Little Compton, RI, Thomas Borden of Common Fence Point, and Edward Borden of Common Fence Point; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was the grandfather of the late Auren Jenks.Mr. Borden worked at the torpedo station during World War II and then at the US Naval Station, Newport, RI after which he worked for Burns Saw Tool. His hobby was work and he built and repaired homes for many people who needed help.He was an alumnus of the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, and a member of the King Philip Masonic Lodge for 62 years. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. The funeral will be private.
