Alberta C. Kazanjian

Portsmouth, - Alberta Copelane Kazanjian, 93, of 125 Quaker Hill Lane Portsmouth, formerly of 20 Indian Avenue, Portsmouth, her residence for many years, died Sunday, January 5, 2003 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late John J. Kazanjian. Born in Saylesville, RI on November 30, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Albert L and Florence Abbott Copeland.Mrs. Kazanjian was a teacher at St. Michaels School retiring in 1970. She was a graduate of the R.I. School of Design, Providence and later worked for the former Outlet Company in Providence, as a Interior Designer. Mrs. Kazanjian was a member of Trinity Church and served on the Altar Guild of Trinity Church for eighteen years. She was a member of the Redwood Library and was known as an avid reader. She is survived by her brother William C. Copeland of Orlando, FL, her niece Linda Bottomley Parsons of Saunderstown, RI, who had been her caregiver for many years and several nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late Lucy Copeland Bottomley. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2003, at 11:00 AM in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Island Cemetery in Newport.
