MIDDLETOWN, RI - Aldina Frances Viera, 92, of Portsmouth, RI, died Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Forest Farm Health Care Center, Middletown, RI.She was the wife of the late Joseph Viera. She was born in Portsmouth, RI, on June 28, 1918, to the late Francisco and Maria Duponte. Frances was a member of St. Anthonys Church in Portsmouth, all her life where she was surrounded by a loving community. For nearly forty years she worked as a cook at Willow Brook Nursing Home and the Forest Farms Health Care Center. She retired from Forest Farms at the age of 79, after first decided that her volunteer work in retirement, would be transporting and running errands for home bound individuals. She did this until June, 2010. Her life was about love and service.She leaves behind her daughter Marilyn Viera and her husband Joseph Schuller of East Lansing, MI and a nephew John Roberts and his wife Ellen of Bedford, MA and many loving friends and family members.She was the sister of the late Manuel Duponte, Mary Duponte and Frances Philomena Roberts. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, from 4-7pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth.Her funeral will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2010, at 9:00 am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
