Alfred E. Viera

Portsmouth, RI - Alfred F. Viera, 89, of 593 Middle Road, Portsmouth, died Friday, September 24, 2004 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI. He was the husband of Elizabeth Perry Viera. Born in Portsmouth, RI on September 23, 1915, he was the son of the late Antone F. and Mary Cabral Viera. Mr. Viera had worked in the maintanance department at NETC, he had also been a Chaffeur for over twenty seven years retiring in 1977. Mr. Viera had also worked at the former torpedo station on Goat Island for several years. He was a member of Saint Barnabas Church and The National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He leaves behind his loving wife of fifty-eight years Elizabeth Viera of Portsmouth, R.I., one sister Theresa F. Viera of Portsmouth, R.I., and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Viera was the brother of the late Joseph Viera, Frank Viera, George Viera, Arthur Viera, and Mary Viera Berroth. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2004, at 9:00 AM from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Route 114 Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
