Middletown, RI, - Alice Evangeline (Halfpenny) Pacheco, 88, of Middletown, formerly of Harrison Avenue, Newport, died Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late Joseph Pacheco. Born in Newport, RI on April 14, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Arthur W. and Catherine (Gallagher) Halfpenny. Mrs. Pacheco worked as a bookkeeper for Pasquale Brothers Oil and then Reliable Oil, retiring in 1991. She was a communicant of St. Lucys Church. She is survived by her son Manuel Joseph Pacheco and his wife Faithe J. Pacheco of Tiverton, RI as well as five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.Alice was the sister of the late Frances L. Brownell and Veronica A. HalfpennyCalling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 7:00pm to 9:00om in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8:00am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown.
