Alice Lorraine Perry

Middletown, RI- Alice L. Armstrong Perry of 584 Jepson Lane, Middletown, RI, died peacefully on May 26, 2006, surrounded by her family at her niece?s home in West Roxbury, MA, following a prolonged illness. Born on August 27, 1941, in Newport, she was the daughter of the late Sumner B. and Frances M. Oakham Armstrong. Alice was a life-long resident of Newport and Middletown. She was a wife and mother who worked at Tommy?s Diner in the 1970?s. Until illness kept her from working, she was a dedicated employee of Star Market on West Main Road. She is the wife of Francis A. Perry and the mother of Frank J. Paiva, Jr., Deborah L. Paiva Kesson and Kristina Paiva Fleischmann all of Middletown, RI. She was also the step-mother of Stephen F. Perry of Portsmouth, RI, Donna L. Perry Jennings of Nashua, NH and Janet M. Perry Morse of Concord, NC. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Perry is the sister of Dorothy Wojnarowski of Imperial, PA, Virginia Herring of Villa Park, IL, Rose Armstrong of Carol Stream, IL, Beverly Winn of Richmond, VA and Herbert Armstrong of Newport, RI. She is also the sister of the late James Armstrong, Florence Bibb and Richard Armstrong.Her funeral will be held on Thursday June 1, 2006, at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway, Newport, RI, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Jesus Saviour Church, 509 Broadway Newport, RI. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown, RI.Calling hours will be held in the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway, Newport, RI on Wednesday, May 31, from 4-8 pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
