Alice M. Mcintyre

Portsmouth, RI - Alice M. McPartland McIntyre, 75, of Portsmouth, RI, died Sunday, October 26, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in New York City to the late Mary Catherine Carroll and Owen McPartland, she was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, George and James McPartland and her daughter, Mary Alice McIntyre.She leaves to honor her memory her devoted husband, Peter Joachim McIntyre; her daughters, Maureen Brawner of Gales Ferry, CT and Alison McIntyre of Washington, D.C.; sons-in-law, Michael Brawner and Jason Sherman; and beloved grandchildren, Emily, Megan and Kevin Brawner. Alice was an avid gardener and a woman of many other interests and talents. She had a warm personality and a very quick wit. She lit up every room she walked into and possessed a generous spirit. Her greatest joy was her family and an incredible devotion to her Catholic faith, especially Mary, who was with her into her final hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 10 am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Rd, Portsmouth. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2008 from 4-7 pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Rd., Portsmouth.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Home Hospice Care of RI, 169 George St., Pawtucket, RI 02860.
