Alice P. Santos

Alice P. Santos Newport, RI - Alice P. Santos, 90, of Heatherwood Nursing Home, and formerly of Freeborn Street, Newport, died Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Newport Hospital, Newport. Born in Newport, RI on September 14, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Frank P. and Emily Oliver Santos.Ms. Santos had worked as a secretary at the Naval Torpedo Station on Goat Island and later at the Naval Hospital for a total of 30 years, and retired in 1971. She was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church in Newport and a member of the Edward King Senior Citizens Center. She was also a member of the AARP. Alice liked to travel and loved spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her brother Arthur J. Santos of Newport, RI, and her sister Agnes Brosseau of Smithfied, RI, and 12 nieces and nephews, 18 great nieces and nephews, and 5 great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Frank ?Jake? Santos Jr, Joseph ?Mike? Santos, and Alfred Santos, and sisters Emily Parvo, Evelyn Martins, and Edna Santos. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, January 18 at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5:00pm-7:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home.
