Alice R. Healey

NEWPORT, RI - On August 3, 2008, Alice R. Healey, was called to her eternal rest with her Saviour. She was the wife of the late James D. Healey. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY on November 27, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Eva Ewel Roettger.Alice was a graduate of the Vassar Brothers Hospital School of Nursing in Poughkeepsie, NY. She worked at Newport Hospital as an RN for over 30 years. She continued her career with the late Richard Knowles, MD, and the Grand Islander Center. Alice dedicated her life to the care and comfort of others. She loved and adored her family, friends, patients and many pets. She is survived by her two daughters Eileen M. Santaniello of Exeter, RI and Ellen N. Ford of Middletown, RI, her son in laws Robert A. Santaniello and Barry J. Ford and her grandchildren, Alexander and Rachael Santaniello and James Ford. She is also survived by her two sisters, Marie Potocko and her husband William of North Carolina and Katherine Cottrill and her husband John of Kentucky and her many nieces and nephews.Her funeral will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2008, at 10:00 am in St. Peters Lutheran Church, 525 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, from 5-8 in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
