Alice Teresa Sullivan

Mystic, CT - Alice Teresa Bettencourt Sullivan, 95, formerly of Middletown, Rhode Island, died peacefully with her immediate family members by her side on Saturday, February 28, 2009 in Mystic, CT.She was the wife of the late Theodore P. Sullivan, former Commanding Officer of Castle Hill Life Boat Station. Born in Edgartown, MA on August 26, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Manuel A. and Julia Mooney Bettencourt. She is survived by her children Theodore P. Sullivan, Jr. of Sterling, CT , David J. Sullivan of Mystic, CT , fifteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.She was the mother of the late Paul M. Sullivan and Carol Ann Lapointe, and the sister of the late James Bettencourt, Manuel Bettencourt, Arthur Bettencourt, Antone Bettencourt and Lawrence Bettencourt, and the great grandmother of the late Jessica Strong. Her funeral will be held on Friday, March 6, 2009, at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2009, from 4-7 in the funeral home.
