Bristol, RI - Amado Cebu Loyola, U.S.N. Retired, 90, of Bristol, died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Newport Hospital. He was the husband of Yolanda G. (Guinto) Loyola. Born in Naic, Cavite, Philippines, he was the son of the late Pedro and Lapaz (Cebu) Loyola.Mr. Loyola served in the Navy for 20 years serving during WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Navy he worked for another 21 years as a cook at the Navy Base in the Officer's Mess Hall and Galley 292.Besides his wife he leaves his children Amado C. Loyola Jr., Ruffino G. Loyola, Gene B. Loyola, Lino A. Loyola, Henry G. Lirio, Zenobia L. Rhyner, Alex G. Lirio, Rafael G. Lirio, Noel G. Lirio, Edgar G. Lirio, Ruby L. Irwin, Angelica L. Sellers, Bobby G. Lirio. He also leaves 27 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Amado was the brother of Apolinar Loyola, Alberto Loyola and Marcelino Loyola and brother of the late Alejandro LoyolaFuneral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 8:00am from Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 3, 2014 in Memorial Funeral Home from 5:00 - 9:00 pm Burial with military honors will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
