Amelia H. Ober

Portsmouth, RI - Amelia H. Herb Ober, 95, formerly of Milford, CT, died Saturday, January 1, 2005 at 390 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, the home of her daughter. She was the wife of the late Ranald Ober. Born in Darby, PA on October 4, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Margaret Simms Herb. Mrs. Ober had been a secretary for the Town of Milford, CT, for twelve years. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Lucia Chapter #25 Milford, CT, also a member of the Mary Taylor Memorial Methodist Church, Milford, CT, she enjoyed Arts and Crafts. She is survived by her daughter Sylvia Wedge of Portsmouth, RI, her son Richard Henry Ober of Rockport, MA, eleven grandchildren, Karen Reynolds Santos, Katherine Wedge-Bass, Deborah Lengyel all of Portsmouth, RI, Adrianne Ober of Boston, MA, Justin W. Ober of Pittsfield, MA, Frank Perry of Naugatuck, CT, Valerie Perry Zeplin of Harris, NY, John McDowall of Warrenton, VA, Robert McDowall and David McDowall both of Harris, NY, Tracy Murdock of Fountain Inn, SC, fifteen greatgrandchildren and one great great grand daughter. She was the mother of the late Adele Ober McDowall.A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2005, at 11:00AM in Trinity Church, Queen Anne Square, Newport, RI Burial will be private.
