Amelia Katherine Capochiano Newport, RI - Amelia Katherine Louise ?Millie? Burkinshaw Beans Chamberlin Capochiano, 92, of 508 Broadway, Newport, RI, died Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at Briarcliff Nursing Home, Johnston, RI. She was the wife of Michael Capochiano of Newport. Born in Newport, RI on January 26, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Kathryn Girr Burkinshaw.Mrs. Capochiano was a graduate of the Hazard Memorial School and the was a member of the last graduating class of the former St. Josephs High School. She worked for Servmart on the Newport Naval Base, and retired as a supervisor after 20 years. Millie was an avid gardener, always working in her yard. She also enjoyed bowling and played in several leagues, and she always enjoyed having company, usually having friends over every weekend. Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Robert B. Chamberlin of Marlboro, MA, three daughters, Suzanne Stancil of Dunn, NC, Karen Millar of TN, and Donna Henlyshyn of Newport, RI, two step daughters, Paula Larson of Inesco, CO, and Barbara Brown of New York, NY, eight great grandchildren, and two great granddaughters. She is preceded in death by two daughters Barbara Walsh and Janice Chamberlin, her brother Stewart Burkinshaw, and her sister Mary Sullivan. Calling hours will be held Friday, February 9, 2007 from 6:00-8:00p.m., in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Memorial Service at 7:30 pm. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimers Association, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI, 02903.
