Amelia Martin

Portsmouth, - Amelia Oliveira Martin, 64, of 77 President Avenue Portsmouth, died Saturday, May 24, 2003 at St. Annes Hospital Fall River, MA. She was the wife of Ronald Martin they were married forty one years. Born in Fall River, MA on November 1, 1938, she was the daughter of Mary Perry Oliveira of Fall River, MA and the late John Oliveira. Mrs. Martin attended Tufts University Forsythe School of Dental Hygiene where she received her A.S. degree in 1959. She then worked for Dr. Eugene Dionne, DDS in Fall River for three years then worked for Dr. Antonio Marks for four years retiring in 1968. Mrs. Martin was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking and her computer. Besides her husband and mother she is survived by her son David Martin of Middletown, RI, her daughter Mary OKeefe of Newport, RI, two sisters Beatrice Martins of Fall River, MA, and Clara Custy of Tiverton, RI, one granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at 9:00 AM from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
