Angela Mary Pimentel

Angela Mary (Aguiar) Pimentel, 97, of Portsmouth, RI, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late John Joseph Pimentel, Sr.Born in Portsmouth, RI, on August 12, 1918, she was the last surviving child of the late Joseph and Anna (Raposa) Aguiar. Angela was a loving and devoted wife and mother who enjoyed traveling with her family, summer concerts on the beach, and gatherings of family and friends. She was always there for those in need, who often became members of her "adopted" family. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony's Church.She is survived by her children, John J. Pimentel, Jr., J. John Pimentel, Jeffrey Pimentel, Joanne Medeiros and her husband Edward, Joyce Tavares and her husband David, Jeanne Fitzpatrick and her husband Charles, all of Portsmouth, RI, and Judith Braga of East Freetown, MA; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and her beloved cat Gypsy Rose.Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 4:00-800 p.m. in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.Her funeral will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.Burial will follow in Portsmouth Cemetery, Portsmouth.Donations in her memory may be made to the Potter League for Animals, PO Box 412, Newport, RI 02840.
