Angela V. Gray

Angela V. Morris Gray, 86, of 417 Forest Avenue, Middletown, RI died Thursday, August 28, 2008 at the Grand Islander Healthcare Center in Middletown.Born in Newport, RI on December 12, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Adelaide Morris.Mrs. Gray lived in Santee, CA for several years where she was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She returned to the Newport area over 20 years ago where she became active in Island Senior Center activities. In her younger working life, she helped several Newport families with domestic services. She also worked for several area hotels as a chamber maid and worked at the dry cleaners on the Newport Naval Base.She is survived by her son, Robert Silvia, Sr. and his wife Mary Lynne of Portsmouth, RI; her sister, Bella Sears of Newport, RI; four grandchildren, Beth Aramendi, Robert D. Silvia, Jr., David J. Silvia and Rebecca Lynn Courtney; and four great-grandchildren, Lander and Lorea Aramendi, and Trevor and Cole Silvia.She was the sister of the late Azora Perry and Marie Luna.Her funeral service will be held Monday, September 1, 2008 at 10 am in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Calling hours will be held Monday, September 1, 2008 from 9-10 am prior to the service.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Potter League for Animals, PO Box 412, Newport, RI 02840.
