NEWPORT, RI ? Anita LeBeau Butterworth, 84, of 9 Maitland Court, Newport, RI, died at Village House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Newport, on Saturday, December 10, 2005. She was the wife of the late John Butterworth.Born in Moosup, CT, on September 1, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Ernest L. and Marie Dudevoir LeBeau.Mrs. Butterworth was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and helped many people as a seamstress. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and held leadership positions with the local groups. As a member of the St. Joseph?s Church Senior Group she organized the group trips with other members. Mrs. Butterworth was also a member of the St. Joseph?s Rosary and Altar Society, a member of the Edward King Center in Newport, and also the AARP.She is survived by her daughter, Linda Butterworth, of Newport, RI, her son, John Butterworth, of Portsmouth, RI, two brothers, Arthur LeBeau, of Canterbury, CT, and Ernest LeBeau of Danielson, CT, a sister, Laura MacDowell, of Reno, NV, two grandchildren, Morgan Lantz of Portsmouth, RI, and Jack Butterworth of Portsmouth, RI, and many nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her brother, Joseph LeBeau, and her sister, Yvonne LeBlanc. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at 8:00AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM, Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport, due to renovations at St. Josephs Church.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown, RI.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2005, from 3-7PM, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.Memorial donations in her memory may be sent to the St. Joseph?s Church Restoration Fund, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport, RI.
