Anita Grosvenor McAndrewsNEWPORT, RI - Anita Grosvenor McAndrews, 81, of 101 Washington Street, Newport, RI, formerly of Clearwater Beach, FL, died Saturday, October 15, 2005, at the Newport Hospital, Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late Thomas Bernard McAndrews.Born in Brookline, MA, on April 22, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Theodore P. and Anita Strawbridge Grosvenor.Anita was a lifelong artist and published writer. She was a founding member of the Spring Bull Gallery in Newport, and later was a member artist of the DeBlois Gallery for many years. She was a member of the National League of American PenWomen, the Redwood Library, and the International Womens Writers Guild. Anita was also a founding member of Panamas Museum of Art in Panama City, Panama, where she also worked as a journalist. She spent over thirty five years in Panama which greatly influenced her prolific creativity touching many peoples lives.She is survived by three sons Thomas S. McAndrews of Newport, RI, Theodore G. McAndrews of Scottsdale, AZ, and Robert J. McAndrews of San Francisco, CA, four daughters Adrienne Schiffner of Phoenix, AZ, Deborah McAndrews of Charlottesville, VA, Kathleen S. Sweet of Clearwater, FL, and Anita B. Welch of Clearwater, FL, her brother Robert Grosvenor of East Hampton, Long Island, NY, her sister Rose Ryan of Lomita, CA, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Pamela Shea.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2005, at 12:30PM, in Channing Memorial Church, 135 Pelham Street, Newport.Burial will be private.Calling hours are omitted.Memorial donations may be made to Doctors without Borders, P.O.
