Portsmouth, RI - Ann Elizabeth Winthrop Pine, 64, of 63 Lisa Terrace, Portsmouth, RI, died Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. She was the wife of Francis J. Pine. Born in Newport, RI on May 25, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Frank J. and Dorothy Cawley Winthrop.She worked as a Human Resources Program Assistant at the Naval War College for many years. Mrs. Pine was a 1959 graduate of Rogers High School. She was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church and was a member of its Vasco de Gama Society, the Rosary Sodality, the Holy Ghost Feast Committee and served as Mordomo in 1992. She was also active with the Jesus Saviour Bazaar Committee. She was also a member of the Navy Choristers.A devoted mother, wife, sister and grandmother she is also survived by her two sons, David F. Pine and Nancy Peixoto McLeish and Allan H. Pine and his wife C.J. Goff, all of Portsmouth; two brothers, Francis J. Winthrop of Portsmouth and Paul A. Winthrop of Newport; three sisters, Mary J. Monis, Jane A. Klassner and Deborah W. Bulk, all of Middletown; and her grandchildren, Hailey J. Pine and Jacob M. Pine of Portsmouth. She was sister of the late Eileen P. Bulk. Her funeral will be held on Thursday October 19, 2006 at 8 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in Jesus Saviour Church, 509 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2006 from 4-8 pm in the Memorial Funeral Home.Memorial donations may be made to the Jesus Saviour Church Youth Group, 509 Broadway, Newport, RI 02840 or to the Vasco de Gama Society Fenner Avenue, Newport, RI 02840.
