Ann M. Wicks

Middletown, RI - Ann M. Pelchuck Wicks, 92, of 261 Turner Road, Middletown, RI, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Grand Islander Health Care Center in Middletown.She was the wife of the late William Z. Wicks. Born in Oyster Bay, NY on January 15, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Melvina Emma Waicul Pelchuck.Mrs. Wicks was a former Morning Glory bowler, a member of the Middletown Seniors and a former communicant of St. Lucys Church, Middletown. She was an avid gardener and painter. She is survived by her children, Richard Wicks of Portsmouth, RI, Ronald Wicks and Gary Wicks, both of Newport, RI, Wesley Wicks of Tiverton, RI, William Wicks of Middletown, RI and Beverley Carlisle of Portsmouth, RI, seventeen grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren. She was the sister of the late John Pelchuck, Stanley Pelchuck and Joseph Pelchuck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 26, 2009 at 10:30 am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown.Burial will follow in Middletown Cemetery in Middletown, RI.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Visiting Nurse Services of Newport and Bristol Counties, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871 or to the Grand Islander Activities Fund, 333 Green End Avenue, Middletown, RI 02842.
