Ann Louise Garvey-Morgan, 84 of Portsmouth passed away at home, surrounded by those who love her. Born on June 13, 1940 in Tiverton, RI., she was the daughter of the late Callanan P. Garvey and Theresa E. (Kitchen) Garvey.
She is survived by her sister, Teresa Garvey-Downes, her niece, Elizabeth Grimes (Michael), great-nephew, Alexander O. Grimes (Ally), great niece, Sarah C. Prive (Brian), nephews, Michael and Patrick Garvey (Holly) of New Hampshire, and nieces, Kathleen Garvey-Petkauscos and Patricia Garvey-Alfano of Massachusetts.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Dr. Joseph Garvey.
Ann graduated from St. Catherine's Academy Catholic High School in 1958. She worked as a dental assistant in Newport County for many years. Ann dedicated time to caring for her mother and later, her great-nephew, Alexander for many years. She found her true calling was caring for children and she worked as a child caregiver for several Portsmouth families.
Ann enjoyed traveling, gardening and sailing. She was a gourmet cook, learning some of her skills at the Swinburn School in Newport.
Her family would like to thank the Southcoast Hospice staff for their attention and compassion during this difficult time. The family would also like to thank Judy and Kim Marsden for their support during this difficult time.
