Newport, RI - Anna Virginia Thomas Kelly, 96, of 12 Homer Street, Newport, RI, died Thursday, December 24, 2009 at Newport HospitalShe was the wife of the late John Kelly for 70 years. Born in Newport, RI on June 7, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Collins Thomas. She was a member of Community Baptist Church, singing in the choir.She is survived by her daughters, Muriel Street of Newark, NJ, Anna Mae Hardwick of Middletown, RI, Theresa Epps and Cheryl Kelly of Newport, RI, several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Edward Thomas, William Thomas, Joseph Thomas, George Thomas, Patricia Thomas, Catherine Thomas, Ruth Thomas, Kathleen Thomas, Ella Anderson and Peggy Tenorio.A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at 12:00 pm in Community Baptist Church, 50 Dr. Marcus Wheatland Boulevard, Newport.Burial will be private.Calling hours are omitted.
