Middletown, RI ? Annabelle H. Fagan, 79, of 6 Sachuest Dr, Middletown, RI, passed on in her heavenly journey on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. Born in Newton Center, MA on May 29, 1928, she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret Chipman Harrison. She grew up in Newton Center until her father moved the family to Aquidneck Island to establish a Ford dealership in Newport. Mrs. Fagan graduated from Rogers High School in 1947, where she played Tennis and Volleyball for the Vikings. Annabelle was the first female president of the Van Dyke Club, a youth club at United Congregational Church. She graduated from Edgewood Junior College in Briarcliff Manor, New York in 1949 with a degree in medical technology. She was the devoted and loving wife of Bernard J. Fagan for 57 years, marrying him in 1950. She worked as a Lab Technician at the Newport Hospital for 2 years, after which she left the working world to focus her full attention on her family. She was also a former member of the Newport County Jaycee-ettes. Mrs. Fagan enjoyed competitive bowling and bocce and won numerous awards individually and with her teams over the years. She loved spending time at the beach and the ocean, whether it was in her youth at Kennebunkport, Maine, here at Second and Third beaches with her children and friends or at Treasure Island in Florida in her later years. She will always be loved for and remembered as a kind, gracious and caring soul with a gentle laugh and a friendly spirit. She is survived by her husband Bernard J. Fagan of Middletown, RI, and three sons Stephen G. Fagan and Bernard J. Fagan Jr., both of Middletown, RI, and Scott H. Fagan of Portsmouth, RI; their wives Christine Fagan, Renee Fagan and Mary Fagan, respectively; her grandchildren Malia Fagan, Stephanie Fagan, Patrick Fagan, Shane Fagan, Adam Kela-Fagan, Danielle Ross, Matthew Perry and Jesse Ross; her great granddaughter Tayler Ottilige; nieces and nephews Leslie Anderson, Thomas Noonan, David Noonan, Vernon Graham, and Pamela Watson, and several great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister Jean Harrison Perry. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2007, at 11:00 am in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. A private burial will immediately follow the service.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the United Congregational Church, 524 Valley Road, Middletown, RI 02842.
