Annis L. Spingler

Newport, RI - Annis L. Dawson Spingler, 88, of Newport, recently moved to Forest Farm Assisted Living, Middletown, died Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late Arthur G. Spingler. Born in Newport, RI on August 16, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Myra Langworthy Dawson.Mrs. Spingler was a telephone operator for the New England Telephone Company for 27 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. After her retirement she enjoyed painting, gardening, garage sales and meeting with the St. Peters Lutheran craft group. She is survived by her son Henry L Spingler and his wife Lynne Floyd Spingler of Newport, RI and her brother Raymond Dawson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.She was the sister of the late Thomas F Dawson, Herman SkipDawson and Marjorie Flood.Her memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at 4pm in the Hambly Funeral Home Brick House, 30 Red Cross Avenue, Newport.Calling hours will be held from 2-4 on Thursday, May 28, 2009.Burial will be private.
