Antonio C. Rosa

Antonio C. Rosa II, 89, of 51 Berkeley Court, Middletown, RI died peacefully on Thursday, November 10, 2011. He was the husband of Anna Costa Rosa.Born in Fayal, Azores on July 2, 1922, he was the son of the late Antonio Correia and Maria Amelia DaRosa.Mr. Rosa worked as a landscaper for over 45 years. He could be seen walking daily along Turner Road. He enjoyed doing his yard work and tending to his grape vines and fruit trees. Mr. Rosa loved traveling with his wife anywhere as long as they were together. He was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church.Besides his wife of 64 years, he is survived by his children, Joseph C. Rosa and his wife Ann Marie DeCotis Rosa of Middletown, Manuel C. Rosa and his wife Cheryl Lynch Rosa of Portsmouth, and Maria C. Sisson and her husband Paul M. of Middletown, his grandchildren, Christopher Rosa and his wife JodiMaria Crowe Rosa of Middletown, Jason Rosa and his wife Jennifer Cordeiro Rosa of Attleboro, MA, Matthew Rosa, Kevin Rosa, and Andrew Rosa, all of Portsmouth, Brian Sisson and his wife Amy Murray Sisson of West Warwick, and his great-grandchildren, Ava Lynn Rosa, Aiden Rosa, Dylan Rosa, Kayden Rosa, Brendan Sisson, and Nathan Sisson. He was the brother of the late Frank Rosa, Antonio C. Rosa I, Maria Santo, Anna Rosa, Domingos Rosa, Reverend Jose Rosa, and Manuel Rosa.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2011, from 3-6pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.His funeral will be held on Monday, November 14, 2011, at 9:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway, Newport, RI.
