Sun Valley, - Antonio Edmundo Neves, 78, of 10715 Lull Street, Sun Valley, CA, formerly of Newport, RI, died Monday, October 14, 2002 at St. Annes Hospital Fall River, MA.Born in Newport, RI on October 16, 1923, he was the son of the late Edmundo Jose and Maria Francisca Monteiro Neves.Mr. Neves had worked as a civil engineer for the Parsons Engineering Company of Los Angeles, CA, for 35 years, retiring in 1989. He was a Veteran of the US Army, serving during WWII in the infantry. He was an avid sportsman and dance instructor. He is survived by two brothers Francisco E. Neves of Newport, RI, and Joseph E. Neves of Middletown, RI, one sister Alice Angelina Lima of Middletown, RI, many nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and great nephews. He was also the brother of the late Ernesto Neves, Pedro E. Neves, Daniel E. Neves, and Ernestina Neves. His funeral will be held Saturday, October 19, 2002, at 8:00AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM, in St. Lucy?s Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown.
