Antonio G. Ferretti Middletown, RI - Antonio G. Ferretti, 88, of South Drive, Middletown, RI, formerly of Glen Farm, Portsmouth, died Friday, May 2, 2008 at Heatherwood Nursing and Subacute Center, Newport, RI. He was the husband of Elda Plante Ferretti of Middletown, RI. Born in Warwick, RI on February 28, 1920, he was the son of the late Francesco and Maria DiCarlo Ferretti.Mr. Ferretti worked for Nason sheet metal for 10 years. He started Ferretti Brothers sheet metal business with his brother Pasco in 1953, then owned and operated Ferretti Sheet Metal for 35 years. Mr. Ferretti was a communicant of St. Lucys Church. He was a member, past president, and entertainment chairman of the Middletown Rotary Club. Antonio loved gardening and playing horseshoes, and was an avid Yankees fan. He was also skilled at playing the guitar, and entertained many with his lively music. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children Russell A. Ferretti of Hamilton, NJ, Steven M. Ferretti of Gloucester, RI, and Marybeth Greifendorf of Newport, RI, his brothers Pasco Ferretti of Middletown, RI, Paul Ferretti of Warwick, RI and Joseph Ferretti of East Greenwich, RI, and his sister Rose Iadeluca of East Greenwich, RI, as well as 31 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.He was the brother of the late James Ferretti and Jenny Stravato. His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 8:00 a.m. from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth.Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 9, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the funeral home.
