Antonio P. Da Silva

Portsmouth, RI - Antonio P. da Silva, 81, of 1375 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, died Sunday, May 13, 2007 at home. He was the husband of Maria Machado Silva. They would have been married for 50 years in November. Born in Fayal Cedros, the Azores, on February 1, 1926, he was the son of the late Joao P. and Maria Albertina da Silva.Mr. da Silva worked as a landscaper for the former Boulevard Nursery. He was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church and a member of the Middletown Knights of Columbus. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Joseph A. Silva of Middletown, RI, and his daughter, Rosemarie Silva Tenenbaum of Portsmouth, RI, his grandson, Mark Silva Tenenbaum and his granddaughter, Amy Silva Tenenbaum, both of Portsmouth, RI and many nieces and nephews.He was the brother of the late Joao P. da Silva, Manuel P. da Silva, Jose P. da Silva and Maria do Carmo Pais. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at 9:00 am from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, from 5-8 pm in the funeral home.
