Portsmouth, - Apolinario ?Paul? F. Nocon, 79, of 134 Watson Drive Portsmouth, died Saturday, January 8, 2005 at Miriam Hospital Providence, RI. He was the husband of Ernestine DeJesus Nocon. Born in Tejero, Rosario, Cavite, Philippine Islands, on January 8, 1926, he was the son of the late Gregorio and Agapita Fresco Nocon. Chief Petty Officer Nocon retired in 1971 from the United States Navy after 27 years of service. He was the Executive Chef at the White Horse Tavern in Newport from 1968-1974. Mr. Nocon was the executive chef at the CPO Club Newport Naval Station and chef at the Mainstay Inn in Newport, before retiring in 1989. He was a lifetime member of the Fleet Reserve. Besides his wife Ernestine Nocon of Portsmouth, RI, he leaves two sons Apolinario Nocon Jr. of Portsmouth, RI, Gregorio E. Nocon of Portsmouth, RI, one daughter Elizabeth G. Nocon of Middletown, RI, four grandchildren, Apolinario Nocon III of Middletown, RI, Raymond M. Nocon of Las Vegas, NV, Kristen E. Mashaw of Manhattan, NY, Joseph G. Nocon of Newport, RI, one great granddaughter Marissa P. Nocon of Middletown, R.I. His funeral will be held Friday, January 14, 2005 at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport to be followed by a mass of Christian burial at 9:00 am in Saint Lucy?s Church, 909 West Main Road , Middletown.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
