Armando Anthony Agostinoni NEWPORT, RI - Armando Anthony Agostinoni, 78, Newport, RI, formerly of Norfolk, VA, died Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of Gayle Hibbard Agostinoni. Born in Yonkers, NY on February 23, 1927, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Ernestine Agostinoni.Mr.Agostinoni had served in the United States Navy for over twenty years serving in World War II and The Korean War. He had served on the U.S.S. Missouri, B.B. 63 during World War II and had witnessed the signing of the Peace Treaty by General MacArthur. After retiring from the Navy in 1964 as a Chief Petty Officer he owned and operated restaurants and night clubs in the Norfolk, VA area until 1993. Mr. Agostinoni then managed the Fleet Reserve Branch 19 in Newport and also served as Secretary and Treasurer for 10 years until present. Besides his wife Gayle Agostinoni of 17 years he is survived by his son, Michael Agostinoni of Norfolk, VA, his daughters Patricia Wilkerson of Melbourne, FL, Delores Agostinoni of Philadelphia, PA, Kim Byrum of Suffolk, VA, Jennifer Hug of Tiverton, RI, a brother Silvio ?Babe? Agostinoni of Yonkers, NY, his sister Inez Agostinoni of Yonkers, NY, six grandchildren Hannah Byrum, Kelly Byrum, Katie Byrum of Suffolk, VA, Jon Michael Agostinoni of Bell, FL, Anthony Stanley of Virginia Beach, VA, Thomas J. Hug of Tiverton, RI. Mr. Agostinoni was the brother the late Aldo Agostinoni Funeral Services and burial will be private.
