Arthur A. Medeiros

Middletown, RI - Arthur Alfred Medeiros, 89, of 544 Green End Avenue, Middletown, RI, died on Saturday December 22, 2012 at home. Born in Middletown, RI on November 3, 1923, he was the son of the late Antonio G. and Mary (Escobar) Medeiros.Mr. Medeiros served in the United States Army during WWII, serving in the Burma Theater. He worked for the Middletown School Department as a Janitor for 20 years, retiring in 1992. He was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church and a member of the Newport Rifle Club. He is survived by his brother Martin F. Medeiros of Middletown, RI, his sister Mary M. Nunes of Middletown, RI, and many nieces and nephews.He was the brother of the late Anthony E. Medeiros and Joseph G. Medeiros.Calling hours will be held on Thursday December 27, 2012 from 10-11 am in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.His funeral will follow at 11:00am in the Funeral Home.At the request of the family, burial will be private.
