Arthur A. Medeiros, Sr., age 94, of Tiverton, died on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Cornerstone Hospice at The Villages, FL. Mr. Medeiros was born July 7, 1920 in Fall River, MA, the son of the late Antone and the late Filomena (Almeida) Medeiros. He was married to the late Evelyn (Coelho) Medeiros for over 50 years.Arthur grew up in Tiverton, RI and served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII, serving overseas in the European Theater. Arthur worked for over 30 years as a mechanic for the Bird Roofing Company of East Providence, maintaining all the companies' vehicles and equipment. For many years he was a member of the Tiverton VFW.He is survived by five children: Richard Medeiros of Tiverton, RIRobert Medeiros of Pawtucket, RI, Nancy Arruda and Joyce Cunningham, both of the Villages, FL, and Arthur Medeiros Jr. of TivertonCalling hours will be held on Friday, January 23, from 5:00-8:00pm in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth. The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 24 at 8am from the Connors Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in St. Christopher's Church, Main Rd, Tiverton.
