Arthur E. Gonsalves

- Arthur E. Gonsalves, 70, of 598 Stafford Road Tiverton, formerly of Portsmouth, RI, died Saturday, August 10, 2002 at St. Annes Hospital Fall River, MA.He was the husband of Joanne Cavaca Gonsalves. Born in Portsmouth, RI on November 26, 1931, he was the son of the late Arthur Rose Gonsalves and the late Mary Oliveira Gonsalves. Mr. Gonsalves most recently worked as a groundskeeper at Belcourt Castle in Newport, RI. He also maintained many private properties throughout Portsmouth. Previously he worked at Shaws Supermarket in Middletown and as a security guard on the Newport Naval Base. He is survived by his wife Joanne Gonsalves of Tiverton, RI, a daughter Patti Gonsalves of Tiverton, RI, two sons Michael Gonsalves of Tiverton, RI, and Timothy Gonsalves of Tiverton, RI, a brother Anthony Gonsalves of Tiverton, RI, and one grandson Barry Furtado of Portsmouth, RI. His funeral will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2002, at 1:00 PM in First Baptist Old Stone Church, Stone Church Road, Tiverton. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.
