Arthur G. Ringwood

Westerly, RI - Arthur Grant Ringwood, 63, of Westerly, RI, formerly of Newport, RI, died unexpectedly on the evening of Friday, August 7, 2009.He was the devoted husband of the late Marilyn Rosyski Ringwood. Born in Newport, RI on June 21, 1946, he was the son of the late Charles Ringwood and Emilie Anderson Mello, and step son of the late Jessie Mello. He is survived by three daughters Jessica Ringwood, Charlotte Ringwood, and Stephanie Ringwood, two grandchildren Shantelle Koop and Alexandra Koop, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also the brother of Barbara Rego and the Late Charles Ringwood. Mr. Ringwood had worked as an electrical engineer at Raytheon for 30 years, retiring in 2006. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force, serving during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Ringwood was a loving father, grandfather and devoted husband. Mr. Ringwood enjoyed cooking, sports and traveling.His funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at 10:00 am in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery, Browns Lane Middletown, R.I.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday August 11, 2009, from 5:00-8:00pm in the funeral home.
