Arthur Garcia Moitoza

Middletown, - Arthur Garcia Moitoza, 89, of 141 Peckham Ave Middletown, died Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at Grand Islander Health Care Center Middletown, RI.He was the husband of Belmeida C. Lima Moitoza. Born in Newport, RI on September 6, 1913, he was the son of the late John and Adeline Pinheiro Moitoza.Mr. Moitoza was a member of the Middletown Knights of Columbus, the Seven Castles Club, the Holy Name Society and a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church.Mr. Moitoza was the former owner and operator of Moitoza?s Floor Surfacing Company from 1956 until retiring in 1975. Besides his wife of 63 years, he is survived by three sons Arthur P. Moitoza, Col. Edwin J. Moitoza, USAF, Ret and Allen G. Moitoza all of Middletown, RI, his daughter Marie D. Preneta of Jamestown, RI, two sisters Mary Freitas and Irene LeCompte both of Bristol, RI, and seven grandchildren. He was the brother of the late John Moitoza, Frank Moitoza, Manuel Moitoza and Anthony Moitoza. His funeral will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2003, at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00am in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport.
