Arthur J. Cody, Jr

Dedham, MA - Arthur J. Cody, Jr., 84, of 33 Boulevard Road, Dedham, MA, died Saturday, June 9, 2012 at his summer home on Atlantic Avenue in Portsmouth, RI. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Rourke) Cody. Born in Boston, MA on December 10, 1927, he was the son of the late Arthur J. and Beatrice (Simmons) Cody. Arthur graduated from Brighton High School in 1946. He was a World War II veteran. He worked as an engineer until he retired in 1992. Arthur loved spending time with his daughters and granddaughters. When in Portsmouth he enjoyed having coffee with his friends at the farm. Arthur is survived by two daughters June Borges and her husband Carlos Borges of Portsmouth, RI, and Carol Cody of Rehoboth, MA, as well as two granddaughters Lauren Borges and Lyndsey Borges of Portsmouth, RI and his siblings Donald Cody of Plymouth, MA, Marsha Peterson of Acworth, GA and Eleanor Schultz of Anderson, SC. He was preceded in death by his daughter Jayne Cody, and his sisters Virginia and Nancy Falconer.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, from 5:00-8:00 in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth. A graveside burial service will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at 11:00 am in Brookdale Cemetery, Brookdale Avenue, Dedham, MA.
