Barbara Ann Massey

Newport, - Barbara Ann Carter Massey, 69, of 70 Harrison Avenue Newport, died Friday, December 6, 2002 at Newport Hospital. Born in Newport, RI on February 21, 1933, she was the daughter of the late George and Beatrice Jenkins Carter. Mrs. Massey worked at the Newport Hospital as a nurses assistant from 1959 until 1989. She was a member of Mt. Zion, AME. She is survived by four son?s Edward R. Massey, Jr., Keith E. Massey, Ned A. Massey and Eric C. Massey all of Newport, RI. five daughter?s Deborah A. Greene, Karen L. Massey, Donna M. Massey, Lisa G. Neves and Sloane Z. Massey all of Newport, RI, two brother?s George Carter III, and Oral Carter both of Newport, RI, six sister?s Freida Thomson of Phoenix, AZ, Sharon Sequira of Lonpoc, CA, Georgia Mae Carter of Newport, RI, Laura Carter of Newport, RI, Lena Carter of CA and Gina Carter of Newport, RI, ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at 11:00AM, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery in Newport.
