Barbara Ann Silvia

- Barbara Ann Simas Silvia, 55, of 637 Aquidneck Avenue Middletown, formerly of 575 Aquidneck Avenue, Middetown, died Sunday, July 14, 2002 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI. She was the wife of Donald Joseph Silvia of Middletown. Born in Newport, RI on March 7, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Albano M. and Lillian Ferris Simas.Mrs. Silvia worked for the Laidlaw Educational Services from 1983-1998 as a school bus driver, prior to that she was a Nurse?s Aid at Forest Farm Health Care Center. She was a communicant of Jesus Saviour Church and a member of the Womens Civic League, and the Portuguese American Civic League. She was an avid Country Line Dancer. Besides her husband of 36 years she is survived by her mother Alice Diane Pasquale Simas of Newport, RI, her son Donald R. Silvia of Middletown, RI, her daughter Lillian Marie Silvia of Middletown, RI, three brothers Kenneth Simas of Newport, RI, Albano Simas of Warwick, RI, and Raymond Simas of Newport, RI, and her sister Joan Marie Peckham of Newport, RI.Her funeral will be held on Friday, July 19, 2002, at 8:00AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00AM, in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway And Vernon Avenue, Newport.
