Tiverton, - Barbara C. Blackwell Silvia, 81, of Forest Farm Health Care Center, Middletown, formerly of 40 Alicia Circle Tiverton, and of 412 Jepson Lane Portsmouth, Rhode Island, died Thursday, June 26, 2003 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.She was the wife of Henry D. Silvia Jr. of Tiverton. Born in Taunton, MA on July 2, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Theresa Maloney Blackwell.Mrs. Silvia was co-owner of the former B H Variety Store on Broadway, Newport and was very involved with the family dairy farm ?H-Bar-K? on Jepson Lane in Portsmouth. She was a communicant of St. Barnabas Church, past president of the St. Barnabas Womens Guild, a former Brownie Troop Leader and a life member of the East End Sportsman Club Women?s Auxilary in Fall River, MA. Mrs. Silvia was an avid bowler and was a swimming instructor at the Boys and Girls Club. Besides her husband she is survived by four sons Bruce D. Allen of Middletown, RI, Glenn D. Allen of Portsmouth, RI, Gregg Allen of Las Vegas, NV, and Mark A. Silvia of Tiverton, RI, three daughters Donna LaVigne of Middletown, RI, Cheryl A Field of Newport, RI, and Sandra Burns of Middletown, RI, three brothers Earl Blackwell and Donald Blackwell of Taunton, MA, and Robert Blackwell Beanstation, TN, her sister Diane Dickonson Sun City West, AZ, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Kenneth Blackwell.Her funeral will be held on Monday, June 30, 2003, at 9:00AM, from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM, in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
