Newport, - Barbara Daniel, 82, of Newport, died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Forest Farm Health Care Center in Middletown, RI. Born in St. JOSEPH, Trinidad and Tobago, on Dec. 18, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Francois Pierre and Rosalie (Clapperton) Pierre. Barbara was employed at the Salve Regina University for 12 years and retired in 1999. She enjoyed cooking, playing bingo and gardening. Most of all she loved people and she touched the lives of each person she came into contact with. She loved her family deeply and was the doorway to our walk with Christ. Barbara spent her last years being cared for at Forest Farm Health Care Center. The family is eternally grateful to all the nurses, nurses' aids and staff at Forest Farm for caring for her and we want to express our heartfelt sincerity and gratitude to each of you. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and is survived by her daughters Joyce Dawson-Watts, Maurina Lester and her sons, Oswald Grant Frederick, Joseph Pierre, and Julian Pierre. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
