Portsmouth, RI - Barbara Estelle LaChance, 81, of Portsmouth, RI, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Heatherwood Nursing and Subacute Center, Newport, RI, surrounded by her loved ones.She was the wife of the late Ronald LaChance. Born in Newport, RI on September 25, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Evelyn Hudson and the sister of the late Theodore Hudson Jr. For 35 years, she worked as a waitress at the former Tommys Diner. She is survived by her son Ronald LaChance Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Wakefield, RI and her long time companion Norman Cote of Portsmouth, RI.Her funeral service and burial will be private at the request of the familyCalling hours are omitted.
